On Thursday, 8 October 2026, Professor Mohamed BOUKHARI, President of the National Economic, Social and Environmental Council (NESEC), attended the opening ceremony of the 10th International Exhibition for Waste Recovery and Valorisation (REVADE 2026). Held at the Algiers Exhibition Centre under the theme “Sustainable Circular Economy: Challenges and Prospects”, the event was organised under the patronage of Ms Kaouter KRIKOU, Minister of Environment and Quality of Life.
The Sultanate of Oman was the Guest of Honour at this year’s exhibition and was represented at the opening ceremony by His Excellency Dr Abdallah bin Ali AL AMRI, Chairman of the Environment Authority of the Sultanate of Oman. Numerous officials, experts and representatives of economic organisations, as well as national and international partners, also attended the opening ceremony.
On this occasion, the NESEC hosted a dedicated stand showcasing its latest studies and periodic reports, particularly those addressing emerging economic, social and environmental issues and the challenges of sustainable development. The stand also provided an opportunity for dialogue and exchanges with economic operators, social partners and experts in attendance.
The Council’s participation reflects its commitment to addressing issues related to the circular economy and waste recovery and valorisation, while contributing to the exchange of experience and discussions on pathways towards a more sustainable development model.
